Please vote to overturn the secret and extraordinary exemption from collecting sales tax granted to Amazon. Be fair to local retailers whose stores and employees are critical to the economic health of our communities. Amazon and all businesses that operate in a similar manner should collect sales tax on their sales to Tennessee customers. Our small businesses across the state collect sales taxes which fund our local government and schools and the state government. Don't give Amazon (who never sponsored a local youth sports team or participated in a school fundraiser) an unfair competitive advantage over local businesses who are fully engaged in our communities. Don’t reward Amazon for its attempt to bully our government into an unprecedented tax benefit.
