TFT Launches Tennessee Investment Act
In mid-February, Rep. Mike Kernell of Memphis filed TFT's
new investment and equity plan in the Tennessee General Assembly. The
new plan, formally titled the Tennessee Investment and Economic Development
Act (HB 2120), creates a more equitable tax system that invests in Tennessee's
future by raising over $600 million for schools, community health, and
other public services vital to creating a vibrant economy.
To formally launch the plan, TFT organized same-day press
conferences in five cities on February 28, gaining wide media coverage
in television, print, and radio. In addition, TFT is giving our educational
workshop campaign a big boost on the heels of the new plan by sending
workshop promotional material to over 2,000 community and church groups
across the state.
