Fair Taxes
NOT Food Taxes
Community Outreach with a Flair!
April 13, 2002
On Saturday, April 13, 2002, TFT organized an event in front of
the Goodlettsville City Hall in protest of food taxes and to ask Senator Haynes
to support tax reform.
Speakers included Steve Sigsorsky-Centennial Adult Day Care Center,
Cynthia Bennett-National Organization for Women, Nell Levin-Tennessee Alliance
for Progress, Amy Saddler-Save Our Schools, and Dr. Jim Powers-Legislative chair
for the Counsel on Aging.
TFT staffer, Sonya Jackson, one to two in costume at the
leafleting event, holds a sign that reads, "Cut the Food Tax, Not State Services...
by passing Tax Reform."
